Dilemma of an Engineer + MBA

In a world with mainstream professions like Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer, Chartered Accountant, I chose to be an Engineer. It wasn't a hard decision for me because there are nearly five to six engineers in my family and I scored decent in science and maths so why the hell not! Though the quality of engineers have degraded since a couple of years with 60-70 engineering colleges in a city, it isn't exactly easy. Sure, getting into an engineering college is a piece of cake but getting through it without any backlogs and a good percentage isn't simple. After two years of studying heavy books and performing practicals, we word our heads off for four years having to study fifty or more theory and practical subjects, submitting assignments, making projects and then too we get shitty jobs.
If we get into a MBA college then the job interviewers will either ask why we opted for MBA when we were engineers or simply choose a B.Com or BBA graduate over us even if we have better grades than them and we are better skilled. Has anyone ever heard of a B.Com or BBA graduate ever getting a degree of M.Tech or M.E? But, there are tons of Engineers who can crack MBA like a boss.
Furthermore, Engineers don't just get into MBA colleges for a degree or a better job, they might be just interested in learning about a different field or maybe engineering didn't interest them hence they switched their career option. And if it is so much of a problem then there should be a criteria for MBA that only B.Com or BBA graduates can apply. Although there is no such criteria, Engineers are not chosen by certain companies even though there is no such criteria in their job profile too.
Shouldn't we have a fair chance in jobs where only B.Com and BBA graduates can apply after MBA or some companies are always going to make us feel like pursuing MBA after Engineering is a crime?
