Grown Ups
When
we were kids, all we wanted to do was grow up. Growing up would make our lives
better, we could do whatever we want, be whoever we want and there would be
nobody stopping us. At least, that is what we thought growing up meant. But the
thing is, once we actually cross our twenties where we are done our education
and we have jobs, a few months past we realize are we really happy? Of course,
some people might be actually happy with their jobs and living alone but most
of the people, deeply inside, are sad. With growing up come a lot of
responsibilities, of course if you are rich, you can ignore them but even if
you are rich growing up isn't what you thought it would. Remember, you thought
you could do whatever you want or be whoever you want. Absolutely not! People
around you won't let you do that. People are more interested and interfering in
another people's life than they are in their own. They will be watching your
every move, judging you based on that and call you out for stupid things. Be it
your relatives, your bosses, your colleagues, your friends or your
acquaintances, they will be calling you out for things you probably never even
did or will be forever interfering in your personal life. Note that, you have
no personal lives when you grow up. Your personal life is everybody else's
business more than your own.
When
we were kids, we were actually doing whatever we want. We didn't care about the
judgement we will get. We were free minded, not having much care of the outside
world. We could talk to whoever we wanted to and whatever we wanted to. Now, we
just to make complicated physics equations in our mind before we decide who to
speak to and what to speak to because we know people will judge us even if we
are nice to them and they would probably point out things that did not even
happen. Apart from that, moving out of our home when we grow up is quite fun.
Isn't it? You can keep your place untidy, go out whenever you want, eat
whatever you want and what not. Of course you will be coming to an empty place
when you return from work with no one waiting for you and not to forget, not to
forget that you will be wanting to be in bed by 9 because you have no energy
left after a tedious day at work and also the low metabolism you have,
preventing you from even breathing around carbs. Fun!
Growing
up isn't easy, it will never be. All of us are just beating up our child mind
that thought growing up is fun. We are just trying to act like grownups with a
child trapped inside us who wants to just be a child again- no responsibilities,
no pressure, no judgement. We wish it could happen, but it won't.
