The Game of Love

Being a millennial is kind of awesome but it also sucks sometimes. I may have spoken about it in one of my previous blogs but I kind of want to bring it up again. While we do have episodes of how the fuck did a girl like her end up with a guy like that, we have the maturity episode where we know not everything is as gay as it looks to us but the ultimate truth is, the suckiest people are ending up with great people and this makes me think that why don’t great people sought out great people.

Here is the simple logic to that, its very easy for manipulative, conniving person to con the nice, perfect person into the mirage of love and even marriage. One might be a cheating, evil dirtbag but they will end up with one of the most nicest person on the planet and that’s the game. It’s all about the right amount of chase, the right amount of control and the right amount of manipulation.

The chase is something everyone loves. You will love it when someone chases after you even though you find it creepy but as soon as you give attention to it, the chase stops and the other person loses interest so it’s also about the right amount of attention. Human nature is to want things and in this case, people they can’t have and once they get it, they get bored and it’s also not something which has an off switch.

We see these perfect couples on the television and the movies where everything is green and it’s happily ever after but which idiot is making these movies. Why can’t there be realistic love plots so that people don’t dwell into the picture perfect story all their lives and end up giving their life to depression and anxiety. The reason is simple- people want to see such picture perfect stories because they know they won’t see it in real life.

So basically love is a game- more close to gambling. If you put in the right amount of chips and you get lucky, you will take home oodles of chips but if you are not careful about the things you put at stake or run out of luck, then you end up losing even the chips that you owned.
