He/She's Just Not That Into You

Growing up, we watched a lot of Disney movies which spoke about how we will find our happy ending, be awoken from our long sleep or be bought back from death with a true love's kiss but then a movie like Maleficent gave all of it a twist by cursing Sleeping Beauty with something that can only be broken by a true love's kiss, the catch being, true love doesn't exist.

We grew up watching romantic comedies where we saw heartwarming romance and hoped silently to get that kind of romance at some point of time. We taught ourselves that firecrackers, epic proposals and more epic love stories is what is supposed to happen otherwise its not love. 

If a person hurts you or disrespects us in any way, we mistake it to be love because isn't that what all these years of romantic movies taught us? If they are being hot and cold at the same time then maybe they are afraid of how they feel or maybe they do not want to ruin the bond that they have with you. But you know what, a friend recently told me, if a person likes you they will do anything to make it known to you. They may be afraid or stupid but they won't let the person they care so much about slip through their fingers and for what? The petty mind game of playing hard to get?

There is actually no difference between males and females when it comes to these things. Both genders go after what they want and if they want to play games with you then they are not worth it and they have not even matured enough for their age to be taken seriously.

If a person makes outrageously flirty comments directed to you, if they maintain physical contact, if they hug you a little too tightly or if they ask to see you again, none of it matters until they come to you and speak what they feel and they show with their actions how much what they feel holds true in their heart. Don't let people who play the mixed signals or hard to get game, mess with your brain. A person who truly cares about you will never play a game with your heart.

So ladies and gentleman, be open to people but be closed to people who like playing such games. Mixed signals are not acceptable, playing hard to get is not acceptable. ghosting is not acceptable. Move on with your lives when you come across people like these and one day you will find the person for whom you will be the most important person in the world and that person will speak what he/she feels and moreover, use their actions to make you feel special.
