Illusion
“The guy over there is continuously staring at that pretty
girl by the bar”, my best girl friend has been here for only five minutes and
she is swooning over some guy already.
I rolled my eyes at her and said, “Why don’t you stop caring
about which girl every other guy is ogling at? Just be yourself and enjoy!”
So this is the thing- people are always characterized by how
they look. “A good heart is better than a good face” has still remained just a
saying and we call this the 21st century.
True, appearance can be perceived. You cannot carry a good
heart or an intelligent brain over your head so that everybody can see but what
happened to “Never judge a book by its cover”?
Good looks don’t always mean a fluent tongue or a heart of
gold or even a decent manner. It’s a necessity to look beyond the facade people
put up.
It is easy- very easy to be deceived by that mask but when
we penetrate further and further into it, we realize the deadly mistake we are
making by judging the person by their looks. A handsome man can turn out to be
a serial killer and a gorgeous woman can be a sadist.
There is no point being superficial when you can explore
different things about a person and like them for who they are and not how they
look.
